Bern - Muri
Bern – Muri, with its numerous mansions and gardens is a popular residence chosen by the Bernese. Just outside the gates of Bern, Muri is also the perfect departure point for trips to the Bernese Oberland or the Emmental.
With its public transportation possibilities, the direct highway junction and the attractive tax rate, the community of Muri is also the ideal location for many companies.
The village of Gümligen belongs to the community, too, and disposes of many service companies, industries, computer firms and associations.
With its time-honored sandstone buildings, historic towers and 11 unique fountains, Bern belongs to the most impressive examples of medieval town building in Europe. The townscape remains practically unaltered since many centuries. This is why the city of Bern was honored as a UNESCO world heritage site. With this distinction, the famous bear pit (the bear is Bern’s heraldic animal) in Bern goes in line with Rome, the Egyptian pyramids and the Taj Mahal. Bern is also the seat of Switzerland's government.
